The Razer Nari headset looks like someone who stacked two headsets together and called it “Ultimate.” Seriously, though, I won’t be caught dead wearing this in public. For one, I look like a foolish person wearing it, as dictated by Tom’s Guide staff without stopping. Second, this thing slipped and slid in my head even though I just turned to face the other direction.
And where I can usually find space in my travel bag for HyperX Cloud II, I can’t wait for Razer Nari Ultimate, so I reluctantly put it on my neck. Fortunately, the ear cup can rotate 90 degrees, so it doesn’t make me choke. The headset size is mainly due to the default haptic technology.
Razer Nari Ultimate Driver. Apart from the size, this headset is quite slick. The automatic tuning bond is wrapped in a slim aluminum frame that leads to a gray plastic frame that surrounds the ear cup. The ear glasses themselves are carved with style on the outside, and the Razer becomes a Razer, there is an RGB-lit, powerful company logo stamped on each cup.
From top to bottom, the left cup displays buttons for mute, rockers to balance in-game audio and chat, power buttons, micro USB input for charging, 3.5mm headphone jack and a retractable microphone. The right side has a regular volume rocker and slot for holding a 2.4G USB wireless transceiver, which is convenient for traveling.

Gimmicks from Nari Ultimate are supported by haptic technology, otherwise known as the Razer HyperSense, which is designed to roar based on audio signals from whatever you listen to. There is almost no time when the HyperSense Razer rumbling technology sounds or feels good when playing games. HyperSense causes dialogue during the cutscene on Just Cause 4 to sound very civilized and distorted. When the first mission finally began, regular background music vibrated my eardrums to exhaustion and frustration.
