No matter how much you protect your computer, there is always a chance that it will get infected by a virus or some other form of malware. Malware has become so sophisticated that, very often, people who are in fortunate enough to get it into their computer my not even be aware that they do. They would not even be able to say how they got it in the first place. There are many different kinds of malware and going around these days, but in this article would like to talk to you about a particularly insidious one: finding a discount ads.
The main purpose of this article is to give you all the information you need about this virus starting by talking about how it will affect you if you get it, discussing how you would recognize that you do have it, And of course given you all the different steps you will need to follow in order to uninstall it.
In a way, we are doing all of this to help you and install it, which is the ultimate goal. But we do believe that having some additional information will only help you understand this particular virus and will also make it easier to get rid of it in turn.
What Is This Virus?
Have you ever noticed pop up ads when you visit certain websites? If you have been using the Internet for more than five minutes you probably have. It is quite common to get those ads when browsing the Internet and visiting, let’s call them, adult-oriented websites. There was a time, however, not that long ago where these kinds of Internet ads were more popular. There are incredibly invasive and therefore annoying. We are not saying that all pop-up ads are a virus or even this virus specifically. Instead, we are simply illustrating how are this ad based virus works.
So, if you get pop-up ads when browsing the Internet you should not immediately feel the need to worry, let alone think that you have been attacked by malware. By the way, before we go any further with this, let’s just have a reminder of what malware is. Malware is just a shorthand for a malicious software. So, if you get pop-ups you should not immediately worried but you should check a couple of things to verify if this is malware. If you do, you will be redirected to websites that would ask you to download and install software into your computer. That software will be one hundred percent malware.

Tempting as it may be to click on them, particularly because not only do they offer you amazing discounts on the products that you are interested in but they make this so personal that someone not paying enough attention or been on aware of it might easily fall for it.
Unfortunately, not clicking on those banners for pop-ups is not enough. The fact that they appear at all when you are browsing a website that should not contain that kind of advertising (and, believe us, online retailers would not have this kind of advertising on their pages) Is a telltale sign in itself that your computer has already been infected.
The first thing to do is not to panic, for there is a solution to this problem. It is important to remain calm if you would like to get rid of it. All you will need to do is uninstall this virus. And this is where we come in. Now that you know what the virus is, what it does, and how you can be sure to identify it, you are ready to know how to uninstall it.
How Do You Uninstall It?
Before we actually go into the simple steps you will need to follow in order to actually uninstall it and get rid of the problem, it might be helpful to talk a little bit about how the virus spreads. This is the only way of making sure or, at least doing your best that it will not affect you again in the future once you have uninstalled it.
If the finding discount ads virus is affecting your computer it means that you actually installed it. That may be shocking and surprising news for you because unless for some reason you are trying to damage your own computer you would not knowingly download and install a virus. So then what? Does this mean that somebody else got a hold of your computer and install it? Well, not necessarily in most probably actually not at all. The way most people install this virus on their computer is by downloading some other free software. More often than not, this virus comes bundled together with other software that is probably not really harmful to your computer. So one way of avoiding this in the future is just by simply not downloading any free software you find on the Internet. However, we know that this is not ideal and not always possible.
One thing that you can do, however, short of quit installing free software is to actually pay close attention to what you are actually installing next time. Next time you come across some free software to download have a close look at what it is actually included in the bundle your downloading. Very often this virus and others like it will be included as optional together with bona fide non-harmful software. So do not click mindlessly to save time and download the whole bundle and just check every single piece of software you download.
All of this will help you avoid installing find a discount or other similar malware in the future, but how about now? If you are already getting those irritating pop-ups and banners how do you get rid of them?
If you have a Windows computer simply follow the steps:
- Go to start and play click on control panel (for Windows 8 just search for Control Panel)
- Go to programs and click on Uninstall a program. This will prompt a new screen to display.
- Then, find a discount and remove it.
These three easy steps are all you will need to get rid of it. Remember that you can also order your downloads bank date as if you have a lot of different software already installed this might help you find this particular malware quicker.
If you have actually installed find a discount as an extension on your web browser, then you will need to find the extension remove it. This is most commonly done when you use one of the following web browsers:
- Internet Explorer.
- Mozilla Firefox.
- Google Chrome.
One thing that you can do if that is the case is to reset the relevant web browser so it goes back to its default settings. This is quite a radical solution so I will not suit everyone. If you are not comfortable doing this there are a few different options that you might want to try out first. Of course, the first thing you will need to know is trying to find it as a program and uninstall it as we have already shown you. But if this did not resolve the shoe because you could not find it I am on your programs then you should get your hands on an extension that we all identify malware and get rid of it. There are several options among which the following ones tend to be the most reliable ones:
- AdwCleaner: you can just search for this and download it. Once you have downloaded it you need to open it. This piece of software will scan your computer and all your Internet web browsers and detect any malicious software and files. It will show you the list of them so you can delete all of them or specific ones.
- Another very similar software that you can use is called Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. Again, search for it and downloaded. Follow the on-screen instructions after you have installed it and you should be able to get rid of this and another possible virus is affecting your computer.
- Your final option before resetting your browser would be to use Hitman Pro, which works in a similar way to the other two options we have given you already.
